Preview: Round 11 - Brands Hatch GP

This weekend is the grand finale of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, where FHO Racing BMW Motorrad with riders Josh Brookes and Peter Hickman will be looking for a strong outing aboard the BMW M 1000 RRs to wrap up the 2024 season.

Returning to the 2.4-mile Kent circuit for the second time this year, both Josh and teammate Hicky have been making improvements across the season with the M 1000 RR, and in recent rounds have been further up the field and back in the mix with the front runners.

The weekends’ action kicks off today with the first free practice at 10.40. Qualifying and the first race of the weekend is tomorrow (Saturday 12 October), with the final two races of the year on Sunday (13 October). Click here for the full weekend schedule.

"This weekend is the season finale, so we obviously want to finish off the year in the best way possible. Brands is one of my strongest tracks going on race wins and podiums over the years, so I do hold Brands with higher expectations but there’s no guarantees. Throughout the year we’ve been trying to improve the package and get better results, so we can only go into the last round with the same attitude, and we can still go in with high expectations and see what we come away with."

“It’s the final weekend of the year; it’s been a tough year for me, probably the hardest I’ve had in BSB with one thing and another. I want to end the year on a high, the last few rounds have been a lot more positive, although Donington was a bit of a step backwards. We need to rectify a few things for this weekend and finish as strong as we can before we head to the Macau Grand Prix in a few weeks’ time.”
