NEW SEASON BECKONS AS FHO RACING BMW HEADS FOR SILVERSTONE

NEW SEASON BECKONS AS FHO RACING BMW HEADS FOR SILVERSTONE

THE FHO Racing BMW squad is fired up and ready to get the show on the road as it prepares to begin its second season in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this Easter weekend.

Team Principal Faye Ho has expanded her team to a four-rider outfit, with the returning Peter Hickman joined by youngster Ryan Vickers in the Superbike series while 2021 Junior Superstock champion Jack Nixon joins Alex Olsen as he returns for a second stint in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.

Following pre-season tests at Snetterton and Silverstone, the squad is hoping to hit the ground running when its pack of BMW M 1000 RR machines take to the track for the first time on Friday.

Faye Ho, Team Principal:

“I can’t wait for the new season to begin and I am very excited to see my four-rider FHO Racing BMW team out in action at Silverstone. Last year we had a very strong debut season and now we are here, ready to return for our second year and we’re bigger and stronger than ever.

“I am very excited to see how well Peter can build on last year’s success and I believe the addition of Ryan just makes it all even stronger. Ryan’s keen to learn and improve and I think we’ve got the perfect Superbike team.

“In Superstock, Alex has already proved he can win races on our bike and he’s coming into the season quietly confident and eager to win. Jack, meanwhile, has already showed us why he is a reigning champion and I know he’s going to be strong.

“I feel I have the best, most talented team in the British paddock and myself, my team manager Darren Jones and everyone involved with FHO Racing will be coming out fighting, determined to do the best job we all possibly can.”

Peter Hickman (Superbike)

“I think we all know that this is probably one of my least favourite tracks so I think it’s probably just going to be a weekend of survival for me, one to scrape as many points together as possible.

“It’s good in a way that we’re able to get this one out of the way early and I don’t want to risk anything more than what I need to so we can just collect as many points as possible and just move on. You never know what’s going to happen so we’ll just be going out there to do the best we can.

Ryan Vickers (Superbike)

“I can’t wait, it’s going to be awesome – this is what we’ve been waiting for! I feel really good, even though we may not have got as many laps in during testing as I’d have liked, I am ready to go.

“It’s a new adventure for me but there’s no pressure. I feel excited and more relaxed coming into a new season with a team like FHO because it’s a great squad. I know I’ll have the best bike I can underneath me so we’re just looking forward to getting out and seeing what we can do.”

Alex Olsen (Superstock)

“I am really looking forward to the new season, particularly starting the year at Silverstone because we’ve had a good track record there. I’ve won a few times – including last year – so that bodes very well for us coming into the first round.

“I’ve enjoyed testing and now I’m just eager to race again. It feels like the winter has dragged on way too long so it’ll be nice to get out for our first race weekend and see where we actually sit and find out who are main competitors are. I can’t wait to get the ball rolling.”

Jack Nixon (Superstock)

“It’s certainly going to be a big weekend and it’s very exciting. It feels like there’s been a big run-up to this round and it was really good to get to ride there last week, so it means everything will be more familiar when we begin on Friday.

“For me it’s certainly a big switch from last year and very different to any other seasons I’ve done before so I’m looking forward to getting going. I feel we’re at a good point now where we can start to make progress running into the weekend.”
