THE FHO Racing BMW team is fired-up and eager to go as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship crosses the border and roars back into action this weekend.
Following a successful Isle of Man TT, the team is now fully focused on the return of BSB as the series heads to the picturesque Knockhill circuit in Fife.
It’s back to business as usual for Superbike riders Peter Hickman and Ryan Vickers, who are looking forward to getting back out on their BMW M 1000 RR machinery and tackling Round Four and three races around the short Scottish track
And it’s also set to be a busy one for FHO Racing with Kobelco riders Alex Olsen and Jack Nixon, who will line up for two Pirelli National Superstock races at the hillside circuit.
Peter Hickman (Superbike)
“It feels a long time since our last round at Donington Park but I’m raring to go this weekend. We’re heading to Scotland and Knockhill, a track which can always be relied upon to throw up various challenges – but we’re ready.
“With the TT now out of the way, myself and the team have just one focus and that is to really start pushing the envelope now at BSB and start making improvements so we can pull in the results. We’re all keen to get going and hopefully we can enjoy a strong fourth round to get our short circuit campaign back underway in style.”
Ryan Vickers (Superbike)
“I’m really looking forward to Knockhill, it’s a circuit I enjoy. It’s another short little track which is hard and a bit more technical than other short tracks like Silverstone National.
“There are a lot of riders performing very well at the moment and a short track can highlight that so for me, this round is all about improvements. I want to build on my previous experience there and as long as we keep improving each time we hit the track, I’ll be happy.”
Alex Olsen (Superstock)
“Knockhill can always be a bit of a challenge, not least because it’s pretty much the opposite end of the country to me! But at the same time, it’s a great little circuit and it can throw up some interesting results.
“Myself, Ryan and Jack came up for a test a few weeks ago which was great and hopefully will pay dividends when we get back out there this weekend. I’m hopeful we can get a good round in, ideally get two podiums here and get our championship charge back on course.”
Jack Nixon (Superstock)
“I’ve been looking forward to this round for a while because Knockhill is a track I like. It’s completely different but that’s what makes it such a challenge.
“I’ve been up and tested during the break and we’ve all been working hard ahead of this round. I’m confident we can be strong here and I’m really excited about racing the big bike here for the first time. We’ll see what we can do and where we end up.”
Team Principal Faye Ho:
“I am very excited about this weekend and getting back to Bennetts British Superbike action after a few weeks out. I’m looking forward to getting the full team back together again and switching back to full BSB mode without any other distractions.
“Knockhill is an interesting circuit and one which is very different to anywhere else on the calendar and it’s going to be very interesting to see how we stack up when we get there.
“It’s going to be another busy one, with the three Superbike races and then two for Alex and Jack too, but my team is fired up and ready and we can’t wait. Let’s hope we can come back celebrating a strong set of results.”
