The FHO Racing BWM team ended their debut season in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship with a hat trick of top five finishes as Peter Hickman claimed fifth place in the final standings, leading the charge for the new BMW M 1000 RR in 2021.
Hickman claimed a trio of fifth place finishes in the final three races of the season, which saw him elevated to fifth in the overall standings after the last race of the 2021 championship. The Louth-based rider will now turn his attention to next season after it was announced he will remain with the team for their 2022 campaign.
Joe Francis meanwhile was battling for the top ten in only his second appearance with the team, finishing with a best result of eleventh place, whilst Brian McCormack on the Roadhouse Macau by FHO Racing BMW ended his season with two finishes.
In the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, Alex Olsen just missed out on a top five finish in sixth place in the final race of the season, claiming third place in the final standings for the FHO Racing BMW team in his first year back from injury.

“It has been a fantastic first year for the FHO Racing team with a new bike, the BMW M 1000 RR. It is awesome to have finished the year as the top BMW in the championship, that is a real bonus. I have to say a massive thanks to everyone in the team as the bike has been mega.
“Fifth place in the championship was good for me as well; we weren’t too far away and made improvements and kept learning right up until the end of the final race of the season.
“We have been pushing to improve and Brands Hatch was a great weekend so thank you to everyone who has supported me and I can’t wait to get started on next year and coming back stronger.”

“It has been a great two rounds for me with the FHO Racing team and I need to thank them again for the opportunity. It has been a dream come true and we haven’t been outside the points in the races we finished, so fair play to the team. We were fighting for the top ten in the races and after only two events we showed we could come out fighting. I want to thank all of my sponsors and everyone at FHO Racing BMW.”

“It’s sad to finish the season as it has been brilliant. I have learnt so much with the FHO Racing BMW team and they have worked brilliantly. We scored a point and that was my goal at the start of the season. I have continued to improve throughout the season so I need to thank them for their support, plus all of my sponsors.”

“If you had said at the start of the season we would end the championship in the top three I would have bitten your hand off! A few things didn’t go to plan, there were a few small things that didn’t go to plan but we are all go again for next year!
“We will hit the ground running next year and we will be coming out ready to fight for the title. I want to thank everyone at FHO Racing BMW and also all my personal sponsors for sticking by me.”
Team Owner Faye Ho
“It has been a fantastic season and I want to thank everyone who has been a part of the team or has supported us through our debut year. We have had race wins, podium finishes and have been in the title battle and that is an incredible way for us to have ended our first year.
“Pete ended the season as the top BMW in the standings and we are really looking forward to seeing what we can do next year now that we have this experience to build on in 2022.
“Alex fought until the end and he has done an amazing job to have come back from his injuries to be fighting for the title and finishing the season in third in the Superstock class. Of course he is back next season too and everyone is now already thinking of how we can come back even stronger next season.”
