DONINGTON CALLING AS FHO RACING PREPARES FOR ROUND THREE

THE FHO Racing BMW team is looking forward to getting its 2022 season back on track this weekend as it heads to Donington Park for round three of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Superbike riders Peter Hickman and Ryan Vickers will be back aboard their FHO Racing BMW M 1000 RR machines as the series makes the first of two visits this summer to the Leicestershire track to tackle the shorter National layout.

After a tricky round at Oulton Park three weeks ago, both riders are keen to put teething troubles behind them and push on. Hickman, who is also gearing up for the Isle of Man TT, will be hoping to be back battling at the front as Vickers gains more confidence with the BMW and will be eager to pick up his best results of the year.

In the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, FHO Racing with Kobelco riders Alex Olsen and rookie Jack Nixon will once again get two chances to shine with races on both Saturday and Sunday and both are looking to be battling each other up at the sharp end.

Peter Hickman (Superbike)

“It hasn’t been the easiest of starts to the season but we’re only two rounds in and there’s so much still to come. We didn’t quite get it right at Oulton but this is how we learn and improve.

“I’m looking forward to Donington Park, even the National circuit is a great layout and we’re all fired up and determined to hit the ground running on Friday morning. This is our last round before the TT and I’m looking forward to seeing what it brings.

Ryan Vickers (Superbike)

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend, I love Donington Park it’s a great circuit and it suits my riding style so I can’t wait to get out there and see how we get on.

“I’ve never ridden it on this bike so it will be interesting but I’m sure the bike will work great there. The team is working hard and we’ve gelled really well and I think we should hopefully see this starting to pay off this weekend.”

Alex Olsen (Superstock)

“It’s been three weeks since the last round and it feels like forever so I’m really excited about Donington Park. Last time out things didn’t quite go our way but that’s racing and now we’re only interested in looking forward.

“We’ve got two races this weekend which always makes for a better round, it’s two chances, two rolls of the dice and two opportunities to pull in some good points and get our championship really moving. Let’s see what we can achieve.”

Jack Nixon (Superstock)

“I’m looking forward to Donington. We are learning all the time as a team and I think we took a lot away from Oulton Park and we’ll take all of that with us to Donington and see what we can do.

“We are back to two races this weekend and I want to be up front battling for the podium. I’ve a lot of confidence in the team, the bike and myself that we can be up there where I want to be fighting with Alex and I know that isn’t too far off.”

Team Principal Faye Ho:

“Oulton Park feels like so long ago and I think everyone in the team is excited about moving on to Donington Park. It really is a fantastic track, it’s iconic and we all enjoy racing and working there.

“Some of the crew were over at the North West last week but there’s nothing greater than these BSB weekends when the whole team is together and everyone is looking forward to regrouping as a whole this week.

“It’s going to be good to see how much progress Peter and Ryan can make on the Superbikes and I’m also keen to see how Alex and Jack get on with two races. I’m confident we can all enjoy a strong, solid weekend and hopefully we can celebrate some good results and even a few podiums.”
